Pure cotton: natural fabric, comfortable to wear, breathable, warm, but easy to wrinkle, difficult to take care of, poor durability, easy to fade. Therefore, there are very few 100% cotton fabrics, usually the cotton content is more than 95% is called pure cotton. Advantages: strong moisture absorption, good dyeing performance, soft feel, comfortable to wear, no static electricity, good breathability, anti-sensitive, simple appearance, not easy to be eaten by insects, strong and durable, easy to clean. Disadvantages: large shrinkage, poor elasticity, easy to wrinkle, poor clothing shape retention, easy to mildew, slight fading, not acid-resistant.
Organic cotton: a kind of cotton that uses non-GMO cotton seeds, is produced and certified according to organic agricultural standards. Its planting process does not use any chemical fertilizers or pesticides, and is environmentally friendly and pollution-free. Advantages: soft feel and bright color, organic cotton has much better wear resistance and elasticity than ordinary cotton, is not easy to mildew, and will not be allergic, and has better absorption, breathability and warmth. Disadvantages: high cost, expensive, very average wrinkle resistance, easy to get hairy.
Modal: It is a cellulose fiber, which belongs to the same category as rayon, and is a pure man-made fiber.
Advantages: Excellent moisture absorption and breathability, not easy to fade, not easy to turn yellow and wrinkle, or shrink, with natural drape and wrinkle resistance, with a silky luster and excellent texture. Disadvantages: It is very easy to deform, more expensive than ordinary cotton fabrics, poor wear resistance, and easy to break.
Cotton fabric: Cotton is a general term for all kinds of cotton textiles. Advantages: It is easy to keep warm, soft and close to the body, and has excellent moisture absorption and breathability. Disadvantages: It is easy to shrink and wrinkle, and the appearance is not very crisp and beautiful. It must be ironed frequently when wearing.
Cotton mercerized fabric: Advantages: After being treated with high concentration of caustic soda (wool), cotton fabrics feel smooth, bright colors, silky luster, and comfortable to wear. Disadvantages: There is a slight fading phenomenon.
T/C fabric (polyester/cotton): refers to the general term for blended fabrics of polyester and cotton, which are woven with 65%-67% polyester and 33%-35% cotton blended yarn, commonly known as cotton Dacron. Polyester-cotton blended products, generally those with higher cotton content than polyester are called CVC yarn, and vice versa, T/C yarn. We usually refer to CVC as products with a cotton content of more than 65%, and those with a C/T ratio of less than 55/45 are generally still called T/C yarn.
Fabric technology: fine denier or ultra-fine denier polyester fiber is interwoven with high-count combed cotton (40s, 60s, 80s, etc.). Advantages: The fabric feels crisp and smooth, has bright colors, is elastic, has good moisture absorption and breathability, has a smooth surface, and has a certain rainproof function. Disadvantages: dust absorption, difficult to wash, cannot be ironed or soaked at high temperatures.
Lycra (Spandex): A fabric made of spandex fiber (short for spandex polyurethane fiber), also known as "Lajia" (the Cantonese pronunciation of Lycra) in Cantonese-speaking areas, and sometimes directly called "spandex cloth" in the mainland.
Advantages: good elasticity, good alkali resistance and heat resistance. Disadvantages: prone to yellowing in the sun, prone to mold in moisture.
